2020 – WHAT A YEAR
Bushfires… a pandemic… but on a much brighter note, two major Hytile milestones –
55 YEARS AGO…
Jack Guthrie opened the doors of Hytile and quickly became known for making innovative equipment that changed the way roof tilers performed their very physically demanding jobs.
The development of the Hytile Cable Hoist meant it was no longer necessary for the men to load tiles onto their shoulders and climb up a ladder to deliver them to the roof. The Cable Hoist eliminated much of the hard labour of tiling a roof and substantially cut the time it took to get the job done.
The Hytile Tilecutter, and later the Trimming Tray, are other innovations that have also had a major impact on the way the job of roof tiling is performed, and with valuable feedback from our customers we continue to improve our equipment. For a business to not only survive, but continue to thrive for 55 years is quite an achievement, and we thank you for your support – we couldn’t have done it without you!
Jack had the good fortune to hire a tall, scrawny 17 year-old from Blackburn who would ride his pushbike to Nunawading each morning to get a lift in to work with Jack. Hytile has always provided fast, friendly, reliable service, and one of the people responsible for this over the past 50 years is Gary Luscombe, that young bloke from Blackburn. Though still tall, he’s not quite as scrawny these days! It’s obvious to all who know him that he enjoys his job and is good at what he does.
Thanks for these 50 years at Hytile Gaz, it’s quite an achievement! You know what you’re doing and we look forward to your continuing involvement at Hytile in the years to come as you balance life out with family, a bit of travel, and some work on your golf handicap!
SHORT 2-Section Cable Hoist
Our roof tile machines are made here in Australia. As well as the very popular Folding 2-section Cable Hoist (8.5m), did you know Hytile also makes a SHORT Folding 2-section Cable Hoist (6.1m)? This light machine is just the right size for those low-set slab jobs, and when folded up for transport is only 3.6 metres long (12ft).
COVD-19 Small Business Stimulus Package
The stimulus package put forward by the Federal Government in response to COVID-19 includes increasing the amount that small businesses can spend on
equipment and still receive instant tax deductions. With the end of the financial year fast approaching, now might be the perfect time to consider updating your old equipment. And if you’re looking to finance, then give Malcolm Hall at AMH Finance a call – 0432 276 506. Mal’s been helping our customers for 20 years and he’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.
You can ‘use your noggin’ with our latest Bedding Frame
The sturdy 3.2m Bedding Frame now comes with short noggins which make it easy to offer up another frame for longer jobs.
Hytile Solar Panel Lifter
We’ve taken the heavy lifting out of getting your solar panels to he roof. This machine can also be used to take up and down all the tools needed for your job. Visit http://www.hytile.com.au/our-products/solar-panel-lifter to see what our customers have to say about their Hytile Solar Panel Lifters.
